Elections have Consequences

As our Texas primary election comes up, make sure and vote. Check the candidates out & see what they stand for. I would encourage you to vote Biblical values.

Texas Values has a list of candidates they support.  You can also go to ivoterguide.com.

The Fellowship of Christian Auctioneers International (FCAI) is encouraging everyone to renew their dues.

We minister to auctioneers & their families as well as deployed troops. Thanks to everyone who has already renewed.

In Romans 12:5 scripture states “For we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.”

In Matthew 9:12 & 13 scripture states “But when Jesus heard that, He said unto them. They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick 13 But go, ye and learn what that meaneth. I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

The Rancher’s Code

Give everything you’ve got in everything you do.

You’re only as good as your word, so never go back on it.

Stand up for what’s right, even if you’re the only one standing.

Honor our nation, and the men and women who protect it.

Serve as a steward of the land, because the Lord ain’t makin’ any more of it.

Give thanks every day for what you have and the people who got you there.

The person next to you is more important than anything on your mobile.

Never post anything online you would not say to someone’s face.

Respect the opinions of others, even if you do not agree with them.

When you get knocked down, get back up.

Pray and Then See Your Doctor

Pray and Then See Your Doctor

We have had several friends who have had serious health issues and did not go to the doctor. One of our friends was having chest pains and refused to go to the doctor. He went to be with the Lord a few days later after having a heart attack.

Our nephew, Stephen Fortner, is hospitalized in Lubbock. He got a leg infection and did go to the doctor. His friends decided to call an ambulance. He lost his right leg and left foot. Stephen said to thank you for the prayers.

One of our employees, Gary Claborn, had a problem with his hip. He didn’t want to go to the doctor. When he went, the doctor told him he would have lost his leg if he had waited any longer. He has had a successful hip replacement and is doing fine. Gary said thanks for the prayers and the cards you sent.

If something changes with our health, get to a doctor and get it checked out.

A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18 vs 24.

I stopped on my way back from Clovis, New Mexico to see Lou Ann and Stan Young. They haven’t been able to make it to the conventions for several years. I met Stan’s mom. She is on the prayer list and has had health issues. Lou Ann is having heart and lung issues. We had a great visit. They said to thank you for the prayers, cards and emails.

The group Acts of Mercy is the group that Travis Kaddatz went with last June to minister to Ukrainian refugees. Acts of Mercy has sent people to Syria and Turkey to help with the earthquake victims. Keep them in your prayers.

We received this from Monti & Tracie Davis after the passing of Montie’s father.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness and sending the care package including the devotional among other items. The Body of Christ is such a blessing in these moments.

Our good friend & fellow auctioneer, Jeff Duncan of South Carolina has introduced a bill that will put an end to one disturbing social activism practice by government employees. The Most Misunderstood Honest Man

By H.S. Kaspar

I lived and I loved.

I lost and won.

I pushed and I shoved,

And wasn’t always the best son

I tried and I hurt, And it was never enough.

But that didn’t stop me from being a flirt.

It also didn’t stop me from being tough.

What I’ve said is sure true.

It’s surely no lie.

But that didn’t mean

That I didn’t try.

It took me some time,

And a good lookin’ gal,

But I knew what I wanted,

& turned on a dime.

I quit drinkin’ and sinkin’

And I tried to live right.

I know at times I fell short,

But I gave it a heckuva fight.

I argued with God more than a time or two,

But it sure didn’t stop me from wearing a cross

on my neck and in my pocket too.

I could be shrewd and rude and obnoxious and drunk.

I could be ruthless and wreckless and run a suck.

I won’t deny it. The shoe fits.

But, I’m here to tell you; you don’t have to stay in the pits.

You can take all that ugly and turn it to good.

You can talk to the drunkard and take their keys when you should.

You can take you lessons and turn them to good,

For the downtrodden, the bruised, the lonely and rude.

You can encourage and mend and visit…

Treat every person as you should.

I’ve sat with the man without Christmas gifts for his son.

I’ve enjoyed the company of those, where addiction has won.

I’ve called the father of a kid having a rough night.

I’ve pulled kids from a ditch when something didn’t go right.

I’ve encouraged those trying, and not getting nowhere.

I’ve asked for forgiveness, when I was too much to bear.

I smiled and I talked and I took the time,

To let you know you were noticed and all was all right.

I’ve said it for years and it’s still true today.

I’m the most misunderstood honest man…that fact will stay.

May God Bless You,

Alvin Kaddatz

You Can Make a Difference

We receive many thank you cards-mails, and letters of appreciation from auctioneers. Your involvement in the Fellowship of Christian Auctioneers International (FCAI) has given families the support they needed.

In Luke 10 vs 30, Jesus tells the parable of the Good Samaritan. This reminds me of all the auctioneers who help those in need. Not only did the Good Samaritan take care of the wounded man, but Jesus states in vs 35 that He told the innkeeper, “Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spend more, when I come again, I will repay thee.” We received this thank you note from Doug Bradford’s Dad:

I want to thank you for the package of items of Christian encouragement and your prayers for my healing. I am humbled by your thoughtfulness. Healing is occurring and I know this is all in accordance with his provision. I enjoyed some of the coffee Doug shared with me this morning.

Thank you, Jim Braford

Our friend Lyle Bond went to be with the Lord December 21, 2021.

He graduated from high school in 1955 and enlisted in the US Navy in June 1955. He toured the world on the USS Northampton. He told of his adventures of travel with love and fondness especially Italy over the years. After 4 years of active duty in the Navy which were very near and dear to his heart and 4 years of reserve duty he was honorably discharged on June 4, 1963.

He married Denise Harris on February 2, 1963, and to this union Bret Andrew and Sara Ann were born. The family moved to Colorado, Arkansas, Iowa, Nebraska and finally to Texas where he and Denise retired in Round Rock.

Lyle returned to Iowa in the early 1960’s and began his career as a radio personality at KAYL in Storm Lake, IA. He moved to Sioux City, IA and became a TV Weatherman. Lyle was selected by UPI as one of Iowa’s top 6 newscasters in 1964. He also enjoyed other careers in the Executive Recruiting and Real Estate industry but his love for the auction industry won out as his last career with daughter Sara by his side. Together with Denise, they built TNT Auction & Appraisals. Lyle was named Senior Champion Auctioneer for the State of Texas in 1990.

Lyle is survived by his wife Denise of Round Rock, TX, son Bret of Austin, TX, daughter Sara of Hutto, TX. Please keep Lyle’s family in your prayers.

Our friend R.J. Smith, went to be with the Lord 2 years ago, I wanted to share his poem:

Carson Kaddatz & his fiancée Michaela attended the 2021 Stagg Bowl NCAA in Canton, Ohio on December 17, 2021.

The University of Mary Hardin Baylor (UMHB) varsity team played North Central. UMHB won the National Championship. Carson has played on the Jr. Varsity at UMHB for 3 years. The team was recognized on 2-8-22 at UMHB at Belton, Tx. Pictured are the new head Coach for UMHB on the left Larry Harmon, Carson, myself, & recently retired head coach Pete Fredenburg.

Miracles Still Happen

Yvonne Jones called me to ask everyone to pray for Renee Jones. Renee had surgery in Houston on 10-20-2021. She was recovering so she traveled to Gainesville to be with her mom (Yvonne). On 10-29, Renee had extensive internal bleeding. She had lost a lot of blood and had to be rushed to the hospital. She had a broken artery in her chest the doctor said if she had got there 15 minutes later, she probably wouldn’t have survived. Praise God for answered prayer.

Thanks to all of you who are prayer warriors. Jesus states in scripture in Matthew 7:7:

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

8 For every one that asked receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Jesus did numerous miracles. As we share our experiences with each other, we see that numerous miracles continue to occur every day. One of our friends had the Covid virus. She went to the doctor and her doctor refused to give her anything except vitamin C & zinc. She took some Ivomec & was well in 2 days.

Currently, Ivermectin has already been adopted by 25 percent of the world’s countries to prevent and treat COVID-19. Bangladesh, where Ivermectin is broadly used in almost every home, enjoys a 99 percent lower per capita death rate from COVID-19 than the US. Bangladesh, with 160 million inhabitants, has half the US population. However, it has merely 10,000 COVID-19 deaths. Contrast that with nearly 580,000 US deaths in our country of 327 million. Some report 700,000.

On October 19, we received this from Stan Young: “We are very thankful that today’s surgery went well” Stan was giving us an update on Lou Ann. She is still having some health issues so continue to pray for her.

It is great to know when FCAI sends out emails with a prayer request, you respond. Praise God for all of you.

We wanted to wish each of you a very Merry Christmas! Join us in celebrating Christ’s birthday.

6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them; and they were sore afraid.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12 And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes. lying in a manger.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

We have killed several rattlesnakes in the past 3 months. Pictured is Robert Robertson, our nephew, with one he killed on our farm near Hillsboro.

Gideon Bible
Kevin Lane, who does a 3:16 devotional that we send out, was talking to a Gideon. The Gideon had been to a prison and a prisoner said he wanted a small testament. He told the Gideon he used the pages to smoke. The Gideon said he would give him a testament if he would agree to read each page before he smoked it. When the prisoner got to John 3: 16, he stopped smoking them.

We serve a great God! Praise God for answered prayer.

Praise God For His Blessings

God has answered our prayers. There is a vaccine for the COVID-19 virus.

Please continue to pray for all those with the virus and all those who lost family members.

My wife Brenda and I took Hydroxychloroquine and got over the virus two weeks faster than my sisters did. One of my sisters received a Z-pack and inhaler. The other did not receive anything from her doctor and then spent three days in the hospital recovering. Do not let your doctor send you home with only vitamin C and zinc. There are treatments available. Another treatment is Ivomec. It is a cattle wormer that people take in third world countries for internal parasites. Many of our friends and customers are using the cattle wormer and Ivomec horse wormer. There are pharmacies who have Ivomec pills and Hydroxychloroquine pills.

We received this from Ronnie Garner concerning his wife Debra.

No one would prescribe Hydroxychloroquine for a new patient. Her doctor told her about a new drug given by IV at the hospital. She went to Hillcrest yesterday about 5:00PM. She finally saw a doctor at 1:00AM. She said she had no choice but to wait, she had to have the IV. They started the IV about 1:00AM. It takes three hours to administer, and then wait for an hour to see if you have a reaction. Debra has recovered.

We have had several auctioneers who have gone to be with the Lord. Sheila Sisk fought the COVID virus for several weeks. Sheila was a special person. She was at every function the Fellowship of Christian Auctioneers (FCAI) had. She was an example for all of us to follow. Prov. 31:10 states, “Who can find a virtuous women? For her price is far above rubies.” The remainder of that chapter reflects Sheila.

Shorty Yeaman, was a proud member of the Texas Auctioneers Association for more than 30 years. He was proud to have served as President in 2004 and was on the Board of Directors for 9 years. He held a PhD in Auctioneering from Indiana University- Certified Auction Institute, CAI. And he was very proud to be a member of the Fellowship of Christian Auctioneers International (FCAI).

Doug Meier, was a Bronc Rider, Ag Teacher, Auctioneer, Insurance Agent, Ordained Minister, and a Cattle Rancher. Denny Stouffer of Maryland donated a tour of Civil War battle fields to FCAI. It was sold in our last online auction. Anyone who wants to donate an item can let me know.

It is zero degrees outside this morning. We have checked the cattle & all of them are ok. We lost one baby calf. Many people are without electricity. It makes us appreciate everything God Provides for us. Yesterday, we checked cattle and the birds were feeding on the round bales of hay. We know that if God is taking care of the birds, He will certainly take care of us. Photos show the birds on the cattle & places where we broke ice for the cattle to drink.

Pray for those with COVID-19

We have had many friends and family members come down with the virus. Our prayers are with everyone.

Several auctioneers have gone to be with the Lord who had the virus: Charles Connour who was in the TAA Hall of Fame and past President. Don Shearer our friend from Kissimmee, FL. Don spoke at several TAA Conventions and served as 1st Vice President for The Fellowship of Christian Auctioneers International (FCAI).
If you know of anyone with the Covid virus, let them know that Hydroxychloroquine will help them recover faster. I took it and recovered faster than others who did not take it.

These are some Scripture Passages that give us comfort:
1. “For I know the plans I have for you,”declares the Lord,” plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
2. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like an eagle; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
3. I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

Thank each of you who attended the TAA Convention and supported FCAI. A total of $2500.00 was raised.

Tim Assiter of Floydada was featured in the Farm Bureau Publication. He was recognized for his pumpkins that he grows each year. They have Assiter Pumpkin Ranch and have visitors come by from all over the state.

We are requesting special prayers for Sheila Sisk. She is hospitalized and has the Covid virus.

God blessed me with the opportunity to go to the Prayer Rally in Washington, D.C. on 09-26-20. After the march from the Lincoln Memorial to the Capitol, Representative Louie Gohmert was waiting to greet his friends. Representative Gohmert had recovered from Covid-19. I stood on the steps of The Supreme Court on 09-26-20 when President Trump announced Judge Barrett would be the nominee. On 10-26-20, she was confirmed on the court.

Trust In God

I enjoyed seeing everyone at the TAA Convention. We missed seeing some of you that have not missed in a while.

I talked to a customer who has some serious health issues. He told me to get in the pickup with him so we could look at some of his equipment. I didn’t have a mask on, and we couldn’t social distance. I told him I could follow him in my pickup. He said, “I know where I’m going when I die. I win either way. Get in and ride with me.” If you have read scripture, you know that in the end, we win. Christ is coming back for all of us who have accepted him as Christ and Savior.

Please continue to pray for all of those effected by the Chinese virus and that a vaccine will be developed.

A motion was passed at the 2019 Conference and Show at NAA that the business meeting be opened with prayer. At the 2020 Virtual Convention for NAA, the board declined to open meetings with prayer. I appreciate our TAA Board and Membership acknowledging God at our TAA Conventions.

I saw a sign in South Texas that stated, “Kneel for Almighty God and Stand for the Flag”.

Billy Loyd Sawyers, 65, died Saturday morning July 18th. Loyd was an Army veteran and auctioneer. He was a passionate follower of Christ and lived his life to the fullest. Loyd never met a stranger. And as Loyd would ask, “Has anyone told you Jesus loves you today?”

Long time TAA member Henry Storey went to be with the Lord. I was at the visitation. I visited with Pat and the family. Henry would close each of our FCAI meetings with prayer. He set a record attendance at TAA conventions. I know it was at least 50, maybe more. Henry was selected as a charter member of the Texas Auctioneer Hall of Fame and was a past president of the Texas Auctioneers Association which granted lifetime membership to he and Patsy. Henry was a member of Salt Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for over 60 years.

Pray For Our Heroes

oronavirus has changed not only our nation, but also the world. Nursing homes and hospitals are on lockdown.

One of our employees and his wife spent a week at the hospital while having a baby. They had to be tested before they went to the hospital and again before they could leave. Praise God the mother and baby are doing fine.

We extend to our front-line workers our sincere appreciation. Doctors, nurses, and hospital personnel going in each day to help the sick. Law enforcement, Firemen, and first responders continuing to go out each day to assist those in their communities. Farmers and anchers working every day to feed our nation. There are so many others that reported to work each day to stock grocery stores, work at check out, drive trucks, and others who serve their communities.

Auctions have changed as well. Online auctions have become particularly important in order to keep large crowds from gathering. We had a very successful auction on 4-25-20.

On Good Friday and Easter Sunday, our Church had drive in Church. Our Pastor broadcast the service over an FM radio channel.

We have a praise report covering two survivors of the virus. Rose McConn of Louisiana (the wife of Louisiana Chaplain Jeff McConn) has recovered. One of our family members who lives in St Louis, MO survived and has recovered.

As we all deal with this virus, remember these passages:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10

We had another praise report. One of our customers from Mexico came to pick up a tractor. He drove the tractor on the semi-trailer while it was raining. The tractor slid off the semi-trailer and turned over. Everyone was safe and the tractor had few dents on it.

We praise God for Lori Lemons- Campbell having a safe trip to Israel. Pictured with Lori is her sister in law Tana Anderson and her mother in law, Patsy Campbell.

Congratulation to Vigil Warren who has been an Auctioneer for 56 years.

Congratulation to Doc Breen Auctioneers wear a lot of hats, and for Patrick Breen, BAS, CAS, philanthropist, and veterinarian are two of them. In November, Breen was awarded the 2019 Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, International, Veterinarian of the Year award for his philanthropic work in the therapeutic horsemanship industry.

FCAI members can post their auctions with GoTo Auctions and have them on the FCAI website at no charge.

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Rene Bates, a true legendary Auctioneer.

He began his career by auctioneering livestock in the mid-60’s, and officially established Rene Bates Auctioneers in 1966. Rene Bates Auctioneers was an early adopter of internet sales, and in 1997 became the country’s first municipal online auction company. Rene was involved in TAA activities and was in the Texas Auctioneers Hall of Fame. Survivors include wife Sheryl Bates of McKinney, Texas; daughter Michelle Renee Bates and Donovan Arwood of Dallas, Texas.

I was pleased to see recognition at the Super Bowl for our veterans. Several that were 100 years old were recognized. Many of the airlines are recognizing our veterans by allowing them to be the first to board the plane. Our nation can be proud of our veterans. They have served wherever needed to protect our freedoms. They have deployed and left their friends and families.

After their sacrifice, many have problems when they return. I want to ask each of you to say a special prayer today for our veterans. Pray that the ones with mental issues will receive help. Pray that they will not be forgotten. Pray that God will guide them and protect them, especially those with PTSD.
When I was in Washington D.C. for the Values Voters Summit in 2018, a film titled “Indivisible” was shown. The film was about a deployed chaplain who also had problems when he returned.

It showed soldiers who were being deployed getting on the bus as their loved ones waved to them. It brought back memories of Travis being deployed.
This film will help veterans dealing with PTSD & other issues. One of my friends who is a Vietnam Vet, told me he still has problems. He is working with other vets so they can discuss the issues they are having problems with.

In John 15 vs 13, Jesus states: “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” Jesus gave His life for our salvation. Our veterans served knowing that they were willing to give their life for our nation.

Pictured is our State Senator, Brian Birdwell. Senator Birdwell was in the Pentagon on 911 when the plane hit. After many surgeries, he is able to serve our state. You can read his and his wife Mel’s book, “Refined by Fire”.

If you know of a deployed soldier, send us their address. FCAI sends packages to deployed soldiers.

I attended the National Tractor Parts Dealer Association (NTPDA) Convention in Arizona last month. One of the speakers had worked with the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) on the WayFair Case. In his presentation, he stated that sales less than $200,000 per year, or less than 100 transactions would be exempt from sales tax in most states. This deals with selling items that are located in another state. If you do not belong to NAA, I would encourage you to join. The NAA is involved in protecting auctioneers’ rights at the national level.

The NTPDA also raised funds for St. Judes. I assisted with the auction.
